My Favourite Movie Soundtracks
Here are just some of my favourite movie soundtracks from some of the big blockbuster films of the 80’s onwards. In future posts, I hope to share more of my favs as there are so many, it would probably take years to list them all – lol! 😉
In the meantime, enjoy these great tracks below, and if you have never seen any of these movies before, do check them out, they are all classics! 🙂
Gladys Knight – Licence To Kill (James Bond – Licence To Kill 1989)
“Licence To Kill” stars British Shakespearean actor Timothy Dalton as James Bond. This is a great blockbuster action movie, and what a shame Timothy only stayed for just two movies (his first movie was the “Living Daylights”). I love the old Bond films, but no comment about the current Bond!
George Kranz – Din Daa Daa (Breakin’ 2 aka Breakdance 2 1984)
Yes, good times in the 80’s, when things were much brighter and cheerier! 1984 was a great year for dance films, and the breakdancing movie “Breakdance 1” was a great success in the cinemas, and the follow-up “Breakin’ 2” did well too! One of the famous tracks from this film was George Kranz’s (German singer, songwriter, actor and percussionist) “Din Daa Daa” and is considered a classic Hip Hop dance track!
John Williams – Indiana Jones Theme (Indiana Jones quadrilogy 1982 -2008)
Top composer John Williams made some excellent modern-day classical music for movies including “Harry Potter”, ” Superman”, Amazing Stores”, “Star Wars”, and of course, Indiana Jones series. I love the film score as well as the movies – great action adventure, thumbs up!
Deniece Williams – Let’s Hear It For The Boy (Footloose 1984)
Footloose, another big dance movie from the 80’s – check it out! And what a great song from Deniece Williams, which got a lot of airplay on numerous radio stations and even made the pop charts in the same year!
